The Terminal Operations Conference & Exhibition (TOC) is the longest-running series of trade events for the international shipping, port and terminal communities in the world. TOC was originally launched in Europe in 1976, followed by the addition of TOC Asia in 1993 and TOC Americas in 1997. TOC brings together executives from shippers, liner shipping, ports, terminals, inland transport, finance and other stakeholder groups to discuss challenges and opportunities for maritime container trade, with particular focus on ports and terminals as critical nodes in international transport chains.
Each TOC event provides a high level conference, practical workshops, exhibition, networking opportunities at evening receptions and, usually, a site visit to the local port/terminal facilities. TOC's longevity is testament to its continued strong emphasis on providing high quality networking, business and learning opportunities.
TOC Europe 2010 was a successful event and showed that there are signs of a recovery in the industry. There was a good atmosphere on the exhibition floor and it was great to see that most of the visitors to the show were the key decision makers at companies, interested in doing business.
